"Business Direction is more than a philosophy or simply a point of view. It is a practical discipline that works to help shape how businesses are directed over time.

 

It exists to address a structural condition: work continues, decisions are made and systems remain in place; whether or not there is a shared understanding of what the business is trying to become.

 

Business Direction establishes the shared context within which work is initiated,extended and sustained. It does not replace leadership judgment. It ensures that judgment is applied within a clear frame of intent.

 

At its core, Business Direction is concerned with intent: making sure what the business says, does and builds over time reflects what it intends to become.

 

Intent is not treated as a statement or aspiration. It functions as a reference point:something work can be evaluated against as it develops."
